A local manufacturing company that has helped keep hospitals supplied with PPE is turning its skills to helping school reopen.

PPS Ltd, based on Tilbrook, is an offshoot of former Woburn Sands company Plysu.

Throughout the pandemic, it has been making and supplying made-to-measure examination curtains and medical gowns for hospitals.

The curtains allow doctors and nurses to freely examine patients without the risk of being infected with Covid-19.

All the PPE has been "warmly received" by MK hospital and care homes, as well as several city GP surgeries, say PPS bosses.

Now, after helping the medical profession, the company is turning its attention to schools.

"As lockdown restrictions are eased and offices and schools begin to re-open, maintaining social distancing is crucial," said a spokesman.

"It is with that in mind that we have designed our new social distancing dividers. Already in use at our factory, the dividers allow for work to continue in a safe environment - without obstructing views."

He added: "This allows for socially distant yet sociable working conditions. We're working with schools in Milton Keynes to implement the dividers safely for when students return to lessons."

Meanwhile the company's PPE remains in high demand worldwide.

"Over the last few weeks, we have also provided equipment to Australia, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Kenya, Portugal and the USA," said the spokesman.
