A whole year group at a school in Milton Keynes has been sent home due to staff shortages brought on by the effects of Covid-19

The Elizabeth Woodville School, in Deanshanger, said it has sent its Year 10 group home this school week (November 16 - 20) because a number of staff are self-isolating - it is not known whether it is the school's south or north site staff which have been affected.

The school said its staff have been forced to self-isolate for multiple reasons, including being notified to do so by the NHS Track and Trace app, because their children have been sent home to self-isolate, or because there are positive Covid-19 cases at their home.

According to a letter sent to parents, a number of people from the school also tested positive for Covid-19 over the weekend.

The Post 16 class have also been told to stay at home until Wednesday, November 25.

A school spokesperson said the majority of its positive cases, both on its south and north sites, have come after the October half-term.
