Milton Keynes school forced to close 'whole bubble' as Covid-19 outbreak continues

A Milton Keynes school which has been hit by an outbreak of Covid-19 has been forced to close a 'whole bubble' after another case of the virus has been confirmed.

Long Meadow School, in Shenley Brook End, sent out another warning letter to parents - its fourth in two weeks - on Thursday (September 17) saying it has had to 'close a whole bubble' in line with national guidance.

The letter, signed by deputy headteacher Emma Kidd, reads: "We have been advised by Public Health England that there has been a further confirmed case of Covid-19 within the school.

"In line with the national guidance we have had to close a whole bubble who must now stay at home and self-isolate. We are asking them to do this to reduce the further spread of Covid-19 to others in the community."

The total amount of positive cases at the primary school is now six.

Initially, one member of staff tested positive over the weekend of September 5-6, and then, on Wednesday, September 9, Milton Keynes school hit by Covid-19 outbreak.

A week later, on Wednesday, September 16, the school said another three members of staff tested positive for the virus.
