Nine fire crews helped to save a number of horses after they were called to a blaze at a house in Great Brickhill last night.

Smoke from the Galley Lane house blaze, which started around 8pm, had drifted down to nearby barns and firefighters had to work quickly to save the animals.

One crew from Bletchley, three from Great Holm, two from Broughton, one from Buckingham, one from Waddesdon and one from Stokenchurch tackled the fire at its worst.

Firefighters left the scene just after 11pm.
