Man denies murder and rape by videolink from Woodhill Prison, Milton Keynes

The man charged with the rape and murder of Northampton woman India Chipchase has denied the charges via a videolink from Woodhill Prison, Milton Keynes.

Edward Tenniswood, a 52-year-old bookkeeper of Stanley Road, Northampton, appeared at Northampton Crown Court today (Friday) and entered pleas of not guilty to two separate charges of rape and murder allegedly committed sometime between Friday, January 29 and Monday,February 1.

India, a 20-year-old barmaid, was last seen alive outside the NB’s nightclub in Bridge Street, Northampton, in the early hours of Saturday, January 30.

Tenniswood was remanded in custody and a trial is set to take place on July 18.
