Suspicious-looking 'gardeners' were cultivating dozens of cannabis plants at council house in Milton Keynes

A sharp-eyed resident called police about "suspicious-looking" gardeners working at an address on a city estate on Saturday.

Officers were deployed and came across three green fingered males who were loading more than 40 healthy green plants into a van.

The plants turned out to be cannabis, said a police spokesman,

Officers promptly seized all the plants, along with the van, and arrested the men.

The police spokesman said: "The local grow was destroyed.... Another property back to the council for a law abiding citizen to have as a home."
