Crowds of people are gathering for car rallies and ignoring social distancing at Central Milton Keynes

Dozens of cars have been gathering regularly outside the Network Rail site at Central Milton Keynes.
The meets started on Sunday nights but now seems to be spreading to other evenings too, say residents.

Hide AdOne householder at nearby Bradwell Common said: "I cannot have my windows open at night. I cannot sleep. I cannot do anything without hearing cars banging and screeching."
She added: "Recently the noise has been getting louder and has gone on later and later. It also seems to be going on more nights of the week...I actually drove down there the other night to see what was going on and the entire car park was full. It was even blocked off so other people couldn’t drive through.
"It seems wrong that it is allowed to happen in the first place, but it's even worse with Covid-19."
Earlier this year MK Council announced it was planning to introduce a borough-wide ban on anti-social car cruising..

Hide AdThe move followed a consultation where 56 per cent of respondents from Central Milton Keynes and surrounding areas said they were in favour of introducing a ban.
More than 1,000 respondents said they had recently experienced or been affected by the anti-social use of cars
Milton Keynes Council (MKC) is set to ban anti-social car cruising in MK through a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO).
The ban, through a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO), seeks to bring an end to excessive noise, driving at dangerous speeds and other behaviour associated with using vehicles for unsociable purposes.
