This beautiful rainbow shining directly over MK hospital was captured on camera by an outpatient.

The photo was taken by Chris Keen, who was visiting the hospital for an appointment,

It comes as hospital staff can at last start to relax slightly after weeks of dealing with the second wave of Covid.

At its peak in December and January, there were 200 patients admitted to Covid wards and many more fighting for their lives in intensive care.

Hospital CEO Jo Harrison said this was double the number his staff had to deal with during the first peak last year.

He said at the time: "Our staff are working phenomenally hard in incredibly difficult circumstances. I know thank you isn’t enough, but thank you."

Over the past few weeks the numbers finally began to reduce. Today there are 63 Covid patients in the hospital and none of them is on a ventilator.
