Lewie's landmark named EFL Moment of the Season

Dean Lewington's 800th MK Dons appearance has been named Moment of the Season at the EFL Awards.

The skipper's remarkable career has reached plenty of landmarks, but his 800th outing for the club, coming away at Burton in March, topped the list and beat other monthly award winners in a season which will certainly go down in history.

“I never thought I'd get to 800 appearances, or anywhere near it in all honesty. Over the years, you pass the milestones but nobody can think much further than the next game in football so it is something that never really entered my mind.”
